Robert “Bob” Paul Day, age 92, passed away April 24, 2024. He was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1931, in Eads, Colorado to Allison and Polly (Vernil) Day. Robert grew up in rural Colorado, where he developed his love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. On October 12, 1952, he married his wife, Helen, in Sugar City, Colorado. They would be blessed with three children: Allison, Will, and Diana. Robert and Helen moved to Colorado Springs in 1953, where they would raise their family. Robert retired from G.E. Johnson as a construction foreman. He enjoyed his many years as a laborer in commercial construction and was a member of Local 558 Laborer’s Union.
Robert is survived by his sons: Allison Day and Will (Debb) Day; his daughter, Diana (Dave) Williams; brother, Lloyd Day; sisters: Helen Gerlock and Luella Franks; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents, Allison and Polly; and several of his siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
