Robert W. McClellan, age 54, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2001, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and was a great auto mechanic.
Robert William McClellan was born on March 4, 1957 in Harvey, Illinois to the late Kenneth A. and Beverly (Corcoran) McClellan. He was a 1975 graduate of Rich East High School in Park Forest, Illinois. He married Karen Diane Whitehead on September 25, 1982 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He attended Family Worship Center in Colorado Springs and loved to work with his hands. He will be best remembered for his kindness and helpfulness to others.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his two daughters Shannon Whitehead and Cortney McClellan. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie (husband, Michael) Leverso of Homewood, Illinois and his brother, Glenn (wife, Lou) McClellan of Florence, Arizona. He also has two grandchildren, Gavin McClellan and Brianna Whitehead.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Family Worship Center, 6062 Hollow Tree Court, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. A luncheon reception will follow the services in the fellowship hall. Memorials in Robert’s name may be made to the church. Cremation is planned and private interment will be held in Chicago, Illinois.
