Bob Waples, age 61, of Colorado Springs, passed away on March 26, 2021, at Rock Canyon Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center in Pueblo, CO.
Bob was born in Rochester, New York on September 27, 1959 to Robert and Joanne Waples. Bob grew up in Woodland Park, CO and attended Woodland Park High School before moving to Colorado Springs.
Bob was a client at Cheyenne Village for over 30 years. He was active in Goodwill Industries for most of his adult life. He enjoyed making crafts, fishing, and watching cooking shows. Bob’s generosity and love touched many people and those that knew him referred to him as a “Big Teddy Bear.”
Bob Waples is survived by his brother, Rick Waples. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Waples, his mother, Joanne Waples, and his sister, Michelle Spade.
Memorial services for Bob will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance located at 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO, on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
Bob touched all of our hearts, brought us laughter, and taught us all how to appreciate our differences.

31 Mar 2021Bob was like family to my husband Chris and me. I was his host home provider for nine years and did my best to give him a good diet, an exercise routine (which he was not happy about) and lots of outdoor activities. Bob looked out for me as I looked out for him, letting me know if the tires on my car were low and needed some air as one of many examples. I missed him after I ended my host home position but still got to see him at his apartment and then at his new host home provider’s home. Now I will look to the heavens and tell Bob, “It’s time to take your daily walk.” Then I will see that look he always gave me when he went out the front door letting me know he didn’t really like this walking routine and I will smile.
