Bobbie, as she was known, was born January 17, 1948. She passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on February 10, 2024. Bobbie was 76 years old. She was born in the Providence of Honolulu, Hawaii to Reginald and Anne LaFrankie. Her father was stationed there in the Army. Bobbie was an Army brat for the first thirteen years of her life. She graduated from High School at Artesia High School, in Artesia, California.
Bobbie would go on to work for fifteen years for the world-famous Michael Garmon, artist and sculpture, as his only color coordinator. Bobbie was a gifted and loyal partner to him that he depended on for unique and matching sculptures. If you have a sculpture from him Bobbie picked out the color on them that is still used today.
Bobbie met the love of her life, David Bothel, and they were married for over fifty years. Her and Dave would have four children together: Jamee Jenkins of New York, Shannon Rush of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Frank Bothel of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Paul Bothel of Shreveport, Louisiana.
She had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She loved them all and looked forward to her time with them.
Bobbie was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, David; and one brother, Gary LaFrankie. She is survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters; and many nephews and nieces.
Bobbie will be buried at 2:00PM, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925. Donations may be given to family to Shannon Bothel Rush.
