Roger C. Hokenstad
Roger C. Hokenstad, age 59, a former resident of Manitou Springs, Thomasville, and Colorado Springs since 1969, passed away on March 8, 2013 at his home on the west side. He was a Journeyman Electrician who worked for School District 11 in Colorado Springs. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
Roger Craig Hokenstad was born on June 9, 1953 in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Hugh Harland and Mary Frances (Celta) Hokenstad. In his youth, “Roger Dodger” was a Boy Scout…(his dad ran the scout camp.) He loved hiking, fishing, boating, canoeing, and camping. He was a 1971 graduate of Manitou Springs High School. He married Pamela Marie Glab on August 7, 1976 in Florissant, Colorado.
He was a former member of the IBEW and the Gold Prospectors Club of Colorado.
He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved hockey, football, and the Green Bay Packers. He will be best remembered for his fun loving and easy going nature, his craziness, and wonderful sense of humor.
“Da Rog” is survived by his wife, Pamela of Colorado Springs; and his daughters: Ashley and Elissa, both of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his brothers: Ronn (wife, Patricia) Hokenstad of Bullhead City, Arizona; and Donald Hokenstad of Deming, New Mexico. He has numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow at the Sons of Norway – Viking Hall, 1045 Ford Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915.
