Roger Dale Strempke was born on September 11, 1961, in Colorado Springs to Lloyd Strempke and Betty Strempke, who survive him. He died on December 21, 2013, after a 14 month battle with cancer.
He attended Divine Redeemer Catholic School, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1979.
He married his wife, Sandy Largent Strempke on January 16, 1982, and together they raised their four children, Sarah (Rocky) Nolan, Roger, Jr., Emily (Damian) Wallace, and Samantha (fiancé Kevin Pellow). As a husband and father, he took the family on many wonderful camping trips. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to play pranks on one and all. As a father, he shared his love of sports, cooking, parties, Boy Scouts, and games.
Roger enjoyed cooking, whether it was for Sunday family dinner, the Boy Scouts, Youth Ministry Pancake Breakfasts, or for the homeless at The Lord’s Supper at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Roger worked in electrical sales for many years. He has worked as a financial representative for the past twenty years. He enjoyed working with small businesses to meet their needs, especially in the area of health insurance.
He has been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he has served in many ministries and encouraged his family to do the same.
As a Papa to Parker and Shaylee Nolan, Fynntan Strempke, and Damian and Elleana Wallace, he shared his love of yard work, wood work, and cooking.
Roger was an amazing husband, father, friend, Papa, business associate, and uncle.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 West Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. A luncheon reception will follow the Mass in the church’s fellowship hall. Private inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery of Colorado Springs.

This is a Celebration of Life. Roger loved Notre Dame football, the Denver Broncos, and he was the #1 fan of the University of Northern Colorado Bears Track Team. Roger didn’t care for the Raiders, so please don’t wear black. Let’s celebrate this amazing man.
