Ronald A. Callahan, age 49, a resident of Colorado Springs from 1981 to 2008, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his home in Arvada. He was an electrician and had previously worked for Smith Brothers Electric in Colorado Springs.
Ronald Anthony Callahan was born on March 23, 1963 in Denver, Colorado to the late Gerald and Maxine (Hladek) Callahan. He was a 1981 graduate of Holy Family High School in Denver. He married Cheryl Heiser on September 30, 1988 in Colorado Springs. He is survived by his children: SPC Anthony J. Callahan, USA of Colorado Springs; and Jennifer L. Callahan of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his five brothers: Thomas, Robert, Joseph, James, and John Callahan; and three sisters: Jeanne Smith; Theresa Edwards; and Kathleen Windler. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Miah L. Callahan; and his former wife, Cheryl.
Ron enjoyed fishing, camping, music, movies, and the mountains of Colorado. He will be best remembered for his love of Christmas and adorning his home with Christmas lights.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Cremation is planned, and his cremains will be scattered in the mountains. A reception will follow the services at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center 9675 South Union Boulevard.
Memorials in Ron’s memory may be made to the Jennifer Callahan Educational Fund in care of the Briargate Branch of Wells Fargo Bank.
