From a very young age, Ron had a great tenderness for all critters and he enjoyed and appreciated God’s creation. He loved flowers, especially roses, carnations, and the Indian paintbrush. He always had a pocketful of dog treats that he would share with all the dogs he encountered whenever we would shop, with the permission of the owners who would say, “Yes.” With a smile on their faces. Then there was a lick and a wag from the receiving dog. It was always a great joy for Ron.
Ron was always ready to help wherever it was needed. He would accomplish whatever was needed beyond what was expected with exceptional accomplishments. He always did a beautiful job in managing the vegetation on our land, our neighbor’s property, and the one-mile roadway to our property. He made it beautiful. Driving his working cars, he always stepped out to make everyone’s job easier. He never hesitated, and it was without question, what he wanted to do.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 for a two-year term, during the Vietnam era. He was with the 82nd Airborne Division and served his country proudly. He was a true patriot, loved the American flag, and always expressed his thanks for each veteran that he met.
Ron was a very special person, with a beautiful heart, mind, and spirit. He loved Jesus, our Lord God Almighty. He is missed and loved so very, very much.
