Ronda Stevenson, age 55, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2003, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood as a result of a brain aneurism. She was a Senior Case Technician with the Office of Disability Adjudication & Review in the Social Security Administration. She was also a loving wife, daughter and friend.
Ronda Marie Grounds was born on August 8, 1957 in Craig, Colorado to Ace and Jo Grounds. She was a 1975 graduate at Grand Junction High School and attended Mesa State University. She married Bruce W. Stevenson on August 23, 1980 in Grand Junction.
Ronda attended Rockrimmon Church where she was very active in the Ladies Bible Study. She enjoyed crafts and was in a scrap booking group. She loved to travel and enjoyed seeking out new destinations…especially national parks. She was an avid photographer, made jewelry and loved her cats and was a voracious reader of books.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce, of Colorado Springs; her mother, Jo Kemper, of Delores, Colorado; and her step-mother, Barbara Bowman of Arizona.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Rockrimmon Church, 4301 Forrest Hill Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Please wear blue jeans. A reception will follow the services at the church.
Cremation is planned and she will be scattered in the mountains of Colorado. Memorials in her name may be made to Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado, 2605 Preamble Point, Colorado Springs, CO 80915.
