Rose Marie Falgien, age 90, passed away on December 3, 2021 in Colorado Springs. Born to Settimio and Josephine (Senatore) Provenzano, Rose Marie Provenzano was raised in Florence, Colorado. Rose attended Florence schools and earned a BA degree in Elementary Education through her studies at Loretto Heights College, University of Colorado, and Colorado State College of Education (UNC) from which she graduated in 1954. She taught 8th grade in Florence and 4th grade at Stratton Meadows Elementary in Colorado Springs. Rose married Thomas Lewis Falgien in 1955, and this past year, they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
After her son, Tommy, was born in 1961, she began many, many years as a caregiver for the elderly and dedicated volunteer; Rose worked for thirty years as a tax aide for AARP, twenty-five years with Silver Key Senior Services and sixty-three years at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
Rose is survived by her husband, Tom; her son, Tom (family: Cynthia, Adrian (Alix), Gus, Banjo; Alexis (Amin), Iver) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Settimio and Josephine Provenzano, her brother, James and sister-in-law, Sally.
We miss Rose who is now gone from our presence to live eternally in our hearts. Her love and concern for others enhanced many lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at St. Paul Catholic Church. A reception at the church will follow the Mass. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Garden of Angels Mausoleum.
