Rosemary Aguilera, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014. She had worked as a waitress for 25 years.
She was born on July 3, 1932 in Colorado Springs to Fred and Mollie (Tafoya) Martinez. She married Pedro Aguilera on January 28, 1955.
Rosemary was a very loving and feisty lady. She was direct and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Everyone lovingly knew her as “Nosey Rosie.” She loved Cripple Creek which she called “The Creek.” She also enjoyed her scratch tickets.
She is survived by her children: Joe Ornelas, Richard Aguilera, Terry (husband Paul) Avila; her sisters: Sally Zepeda, and Gloria Fuentez; her brother, Bill Martinez; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughters: Karen Aguilera, and Linda Romero; 5 sisters: Mary Chandler, Stella Garletts, Margaret Wheeler, Patsy Martinez, and Katherine Valdez. 6 brothers, Max Martinez, Jacob, Freddy, Jimmy, Samuel, and Robert. Rosie was a diehard Denver Broncos’ Fan.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 South Corona Avenue, with a Rosary to follow at 1 0:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
