Roy R. Renkel

Roy R. Renkel, 50, passed away on March 1, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Colorado. He was a union electrician and was a member of the local union IBEW 113.

Roy was born on August 23, 1963 to Russell Renkel and Mary Wyatt (Vigil) in Colorado Springs. He attended high school at Harrison High, graduating in 1982.

Roy was fond of his mustangs and was called the Mustang Kid growing up. He also enjoyed motorcycles, and had an appreciation for guitar and music. The thing he enjoyed most were gatherings with his family and friends and watching his granddaughter dance ballet.

He is survived by his two children: Randi Renkel and Vince Renkel; grandchild, Skylar Renkel; mother, Mary Wyatt; and step-father, Mike Wyatt; three sisters: Lisa Amthor, Natalie Komp and Judi Renkel-Bernal; grandmother, Faye Renkel; five nephews and two nieces.

A Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass following at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 South Corona Avenue. A reception will be held following the Mass at the Local IBEW 113 Union Hall, 2150 Naegele Road.

Roy was a loving son, brother, father and papa. His laughter and smile brightened any room. He will be greatly missed, but he will always live in the hearts of the people he loved.
