Ruth Agnes Becker McClain of Colorado Springs, Colorado will be remembered for her love and compassion as wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on March 16, 2021 after 90 years of caring for her family and friends.
She was born to Leo and Irene Becker in Evansville, Indiana on February 19, 1931. She attended Memorial High School, where she met the love of her life, Don McClain. They joined lives together on September 4, 1950 in Evansville, IN. In 1973, the family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She is survived by her 13 children: Rebecca (Russ Pascoe) of Vancouver, Washington, Michael (Mary Beth) of Folsom, California, Mark (Aura) of Citrus Heights, California, David (Kelley) of Elk Grove, California, Jane (Tami) of Medford, Oregon, Nancy Moos (Philip) of Sandy, Utah, Lisa Clark (Shane) of Biloxi, Mississippi, Patricia Vaughn, Ann Moomey (Rusty), Donna Welch (Gary), Mary (Deb), Susan (Annette), and Jennifer (Chris) of Colorado Springs; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Don McClain; sister, Victoria Brenner; and brother, Leo Becker.
Ruth had been active in the Refugee Programs, pre-marriage counseling and other activities at Holy Apostles Catholic Church.
Her children will remember her for her unconditional love and wonderful chicken & dumplings.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10am at Our Lady of the Pines, 11020 Teachout Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908 on Saturday, March 20. There will be a viewing prior to the service, starting at 9:30am with refreshments being served at the family home afterwards. Burial services will be private for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the New Century Hospice Center of Colorado Springs.
