Ruth Ann Geary, age 80, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1969, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at a local hospital. She was an Air Force wife, a homemaker, and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Ruth Ann Hayden was born on February 16, 1933 in Enfield, Connecticut to the late William and Eleanor (Ornifer) Hayden. She was a 1950 graduate of Enfield High School and married Edward D. Geary, Jr. on June 11, 1953.
She enjoyed family vacations, cooking, entertaining, card-making, and shopping; but most of all, enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and friends. She will be best remembered for her love of family, friends, and ‘gift of gab.’
Ruth is survived by her children: Kathy Geary; Edward D. (and Karen) Geary III; Brenda (and Ken) Polczynski; Jill Geary and Robyn (and Jed) Bowman. She is also survived by her brother: Earl Hayden and a sister: Florence Halnon.
She had eleven wonderful grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Madelyn Robinson; and her husband: LTC Edward D. Geary, Jr., USAF (Ret.).
Graveside Services will be held at 3:33 pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery. Please meet inside the gates of the cemetery at 3:15 pm and remain in your car. The family and friends will then proceed to the gravesite together. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Geary Memorial Fund in care of Peoples National Bank, 651 South Scott Avenue, Woodland Park, Colorado 80863.
