Ruth C. Arellano, 84, passed away on November 18, 2018. She was a resident of Colorado Springs Colorado for several years. She was a retired culinary expert.
Ruth was born on May 1, 1934 to Alfredo DeHerrera and Acencion (Rivera) DeHerrera. In July of 1952 she married Floyd D. Arellano in Taos, New Mexico.
Ruth was fond of cooking. She lived and loved conversation with family and friends. She also loved gardening and travel.
She is survived by her loving children: Peggy Sedgewick of Arkansas, Betty Jo Smith of Colorado, Alfred Arellano of New Mexico, and Ruth Braxton; her sisters: Virginia Trujillo, Lucille Trujillo, Lila Abeyta; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Arellano; son, Floyd David Arellano; and brothers and sisters: Rosella, Lila, Gilbert, Levi, Lorraine, and Mike.
A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Shove Chapel, 1010 North Nevada Avenue. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, followed by a reception at Shove Chapel.

23 Nov 2018Ms. Ruth was our neighbor for several years and she treated us like family from the first day we met her. We will miss all of the good talks and times that we had. It was a blessing to have her in our lives. She was everything and more that a neighbor/friend/grandma could be. Our times will be forever engraved in our memories. We love u Ms. Ruth
