Savanna Salazar, age 31, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1999 and formerly of La Junta, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at her home. She was a homemaker, loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, and aunt.
Savanna Ronelle Salazar was born on June 17, 1980 in Denver, Colorado to Ronald D. and Ruth (Garduno) Salazar. She was a 1998 graduate of La Junta High School. She was disabled and enjoyed raising dogs and will be best remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her parents: Ron and Ruth of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her brother, Ronald (and Jennifer) Salazar II of Colorado Springs; her maternal grandmother, Maggie Garduno of Santa Fe, New Mexico; two nephews, Anthony Salazar and Ronald Salazar III; her niece, Alisha Salazar; and numerous relatives and friends. Also surviving Savanna are her beloved canine companions “Ditzy,” “Sassie,” and “Gracie.”
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
She will be deeply missed.
