Selma Theresa Alston, 87 years old and a 21 year resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on July 23, 2015. Selma was born on December 19, 1927 to the late Harry and Pauline (Hines) Brown in Newark, New Jersey. She attended East Orange High School and married Theodore Alston on May 5, 1945 in Newark.
Selma, or “Lovey” as she was affectionately called, was a devoted wife, loving mother and wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed her trips to Cripple Creek, spending time with family and belonging to Silver Key.
She is survived by her daughters: Sheila Sanders and Kathy (John) Childress as well as nine grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Private entombment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.
