SFC Arthur Minjarez, US Army, Retired
SFC Arthur Minjarez, US Army, Retired, age 74 passed away on December 18, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was a Colorado Springs resident for over 25 years.
Arthur Minjarez was born on April 22, 1937 in La Junta, Colorado to the late Clemente and Lupe Minjarez. He retired from the United States Army where he served two tours in Vietnam, was a Bronze and Silver Star recipient, and served five assignments in Germany. While in Germany, he met and married Maria Hahl on April 5, 1967 in Baumholder.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Maria; his son, Arthur J Minjarez; his brother, Phillip Minjarez; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Clemante Minjarez, retired Air Force.
A Memorial Service is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. A reception will follow services at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Private inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
