Her childhood was spent in a variety of places including Fairplay, Colorado; Wellington, Kansas; Colorado Springs; and Oakland, California, but Colorado Springs was the place she called home. Her family moved back to Colorado Springs in 1945 after she graduated from high school and she started working as a telephone operator for the phone company. One evening she ran into a handsome, young soldier named Neil Luehring that she had known in school. The rest was history…

She married Neil Luehring on June 15th, 1947. They had a wonderful 66 years together. They raised four children who blessed them with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest love was spending time with her husband and the big, fun-loving family they created. She may have been tiny, but her heart was big and she was loved by many.

She is survived by her four children: Shara Nordstrom, Susan Lester, Neil C. Luehring, and Stephanie Bauer; their spouses; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, George Keith; brother, Bud King; and her husband, Neil.
