Shirley Alamo, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 16. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 56 years and was a member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.
She married John A. Alamo over 60 years ago and they owned Mountain Valley Insurance Agency together. She was later employed by Montgomery Wards for over 15 years and Macy’s where she retired. She enjoyed watching old movies, reading, singing, taking care of her pets and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John. She leaves behind her children: Scott Alamo and wife Barbara, Karyn and husband Hal Van Druff, Mark Alamo and wife Anna and John Alamo, II; her grandchildren: Kirstyn Marmet and husband Joshua, Scott Alamo, II, Hayleigh Alamo, Leeya Van Druff and Dustin Alamo; great-grandchildren: Krysha, Kylee and Jayden Marmet.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Shirley’s family on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 5:30-7PM at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, also at Shrine of Remembrance with Father Jason Keas from Divine Redeemer Catholic Church. Face coverings must be worn while at the funeral home.
