Shirley Janette Collins age 73, passed away on 12/12/2014. Shirley was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for 10 years, and formerly a resident of El Paso, Texas. Shirley was a Restaurant Manager and a decorator.

Shirley was born on 12/22/1940, to Byford and Gladys (Morrow) Nelson and married Charles Gt. Collins on 9/20/1963 in Michigan City Indiana.

Shirley was very fond of Beading and making beautiful jewelry, she loved painting and doing lots of land scape artistry. She also was a home decorator and loved doing floral arrangements

Shirley Collins was our loving Monarch, she was an angel to all that knew her. Shirley was a very vivacious giving person. Shirley loved life and fought hard to hold on to it. We will mourn her with our tears, and honor her with our smiles, Shirley’s wisdom, and her humor will live on through us forever.

Shirley is survived by her loving son and daughter in-law Gordon and Sherrin Rose Collins, of Prescott, Arizona. Daughter Debra Coryn Collins and three grandchildren of Cornville Arizona. Sister Patricia and brother in law Steve Benson of Michigan City Indiana, and sister Linda and brother in law Donald Hamilton of Newport Tennessee. Her sister in law and best friend Lucille Regelin of Coldwater Michigan. Shirley is also survived by family of love: Jeanne Sattler who is truly a sister and best friend, as well as extended family of love Shelton and Tricia and their two children Dillon and Trevor Sunday, Lance and Beth and Kala Benson, Cindy and Doug McKee and their two children Chris and Nic McKee. Shirley is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Husband Charles GT. Collins preceded Shirley in death.

A Memorial Service will be held from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.

In Lieu of flowers memorials or donations in the name of Shirley Collins may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care of Colorado Springs Colorado.
