Shirley L. Martinez

Shirley L. Martinez, age 79 and a resident of Colorado Springs for 15 years, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013. She was a secretary in the insurance industry.

Shirley was born on August 20, 1934 to William H. and May Bell (Allen) Gaddis in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was one tough cookie who fought cancer for 10 years so that she could be there when her great-grandchildren were born. She loved deeply and was ferociously generous. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Lynn; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Octavian Martinez.

Interment will be private.
