Shirley M. Lossing, age 96, passed away on December 31, 2014. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 51 years. She was a homemaker in her own home.
Shirley was born on April 22, 1918 to Charles Grover and Flora Belle (Huffman) Williams in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She married James William Lossing.
Shirley was fond of ceramics, crocheting, gardening and solitaire. Her yard was her pride and joy. She was a lifelong member of VFW. She volunteered for the Red Cross and the Fountain Valley Senior Citizens. Shirley was a very strong, independent and compassionate woman.
She is survived by her daughter Maurine Sue Hughes; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a brother, Clarence Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Lossing; her son, Donald Charles Lossing; and 5 siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Drive, 80911. An inurnment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.
