Stefanie Joy Foster, a Colorado Springs resident for 15 years, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Peyton, Colorado. She was formerly a resident of Alaska for 15 years, Colorado Springs for 17 years and numerous other places due to being a military spouse and also a military child.
Stefanie was born on November 15, 1954 to Douglas Charles Pearson and Nelida (Trujillo) Pearson in Key West, Florida. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University in North Carolina. Stefanie was a career educator primarily working with elementary aged children, focusing on English and history. On June 10, 2000 she married Walter Robert Foster in Anchorage, Alaska.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Foster; her son, Brian Overmyer; her brother, Kevin Pearson; and two grandchildren: Gabriel Overmyer and Evelyn Overmyer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made to your local library.
