Stephanie Herrera 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on January 21, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born February 9, 1928 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Casimiro and Santita Barela. Stephanie enjoyed attending church and was a strong woman of great faith who gave her life to the Lord in 1971. Many friends and family came to know the Lord through her prayers and example. She was a member of Victory World Outreach since 1993 when she moved to Colorado Springs. She was always reading her bible and always kept it open on her coffee table and nightstand. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91.
Stephanie was a generous woman that always opened her home to anyone that needed a place to stay. She found great joy spending time with her grandkids and family. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting and going shopping.
She is survived by her children Rudy (MaryAnn) Herrera, Susie (Leo) Aguilar, Johnny Herrera, and Anthony Herrera. She had 11 grandkids, 26 great-grandkids and 30 great great-grandkids also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Anselmo Herrera, brother Belarmino Barela, sisters Rose Herrera and Genera Chacon and her son Louis Herrera.
Stephanie will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
