Stoney Blackhawk Loveland VanDell, Sr., AKA “The Boss,” 37 years old, passed away on September 14, 2014. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 35 years. He was a foreman landscaper and business owner.
Stoney was born on September 19, 1976 to Rik and Charlie (Crosby) VanDell in Denver, Colorado.
Stoney loved his son, his family and his friends. He was a devoted father, a loving son and brother, and the most loyal friend. Stoney enjoyed spending time with his son and loved ones. He was an avid pool player and had great appreciation for football. He was a diehard Broncos fan. He attended Mitchell High School and Palmer High School, graduating in 1995.
He is survived by his loving son, Stoney Blackhawk Loveland VanDell, Jr.; his “Bonus” son and daughter Michael and Mykaela Johnson, his parents, Rik VanDell and Schani Langham; his siblings: Westley VanDell, Allyson VanDell Salas, and Ezra Langham VanDell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlie Crosby.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard. A Memorial Service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. There will be a reception following the services at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Boulevard.
