Susan Marie Skinner passed away in the comfort of her home on Friday, December 29, 2023.
Susan was born on September 24, 1946, to Robert Edward Davis and Rosemary (Borns) Davis in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio in 1964 and went on to attend The Ohio State University where she earned a degree in dental hygiene and later pursued a bachelor’s degree in education. While attending Ohio State, Susan was very involved. She was a member of the football cheer team, a member of the gymnastics team, as well as an active member in her sorority, Pi Beta Phi. She started her career in dental hygiene and went on to work in sales, and as a financial advisor. On January 2, 1987, she married Gary Skinner in Dayton, Ohio. Susan and Gary relocated to Colorado in 1990 and became very involved in church ministry. Susan and Gary are both pastors at Shiloh Chapel and very invested in life coaching, prison ministry, and helping others.
Susan was an avid tennis player, participated in CrossFit, and enjoyed the many hours she spent gardening in her yard. In her early years, she enjoyed running, sailing, and was a ski instructor. She was passionate, charismatic, and always eager to share. Susan was a devout follower of Jesus, found peace and contentment in reading the Bible, and helping others through life coaching and her church community.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; three daughters: Melissa Cahill (Tim), Kelley Mitchell (Tom), and Shannon Brunton; her son, Todd Skinner (Jenn); two sisters, Carol Farcosky (Tom), and Lisa Mohn (Keith); her step-mother, Ann Irene Davis; four nephews; JT Farcosky (Ana), Matt Farcosky (Annie), Kyle Mohn (Katie), and Travis Mohn; twelve grandchildren: Merideth Cahill (Elizabeth), Erin Cahill, Cara Rose Cahill, Eliza Mitchell, Kirsten Mitchell, Darian Mitchell, Devin Mitchell, Zachary Stangle, Sarah Gudeman, Gage Brunton, Pierce Brunton, and Dani Brunton; and 1 great-grandchild, Alaia Stangle. Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the World Prayer Center at New Life Church, 11025 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80921. A reception will follow at the church.

I just found out that Susan passed away. I enjoyed playing tennis with her both as a doubles partner and as a noble opponent. She was always happy and ready to make new friends!

1 Jul 2024Oh gary finding out yesterday when I stopped by to see Susie. Im.so sadden by your loss. Many silpada get togethers was always great. I just spoke to her earlier last year and we spoke of doing lunch. She knew the hardship I’d gone through and we were going to meet up to catch up with both our lives.
