Thomas Edward Schrimpf, 70, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017.
Tom was born on September 1, 1946 in North Hollywood, California to Thomas George and Ruth Elizabeth Schrimpf.
Tom diligently served his country in the United States ARMY, where he was on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Korea on surveillance radar watching North Korean movements during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, Tom married his first wife and raised his two daughters in Monrovia, California. During this time, he built a solid career as an underwriter for a Fortune 500 company. On June 23, 1988, he married his second wife, Darlene (Dar) Christine Frazier in Los Angeles, California. In 2005, Tom retired and they moved to New Mexico to be closer to his daughters. He then made his final move to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2016.
Some of Tom’s favorite pastimes included woodworking, stamp collecting, fishing and spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Zozo. When Tom wasn’t laughing at his own jokes, he was sure to be making others laugh and smile.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Darlene Frazier of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Suzanne Edwards and husband, Scott of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Stephanie Trujillo and husband, Matt of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and his three grandchildren, Sarah Edwards, Alyssa Trujillo and Ethan Trujillo.
