Thomas “Tom” J. Anderson, III

Thomas “Tom” J. Anderson, III passed away Monday, February 2, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs.

Tom was born on March 18, 1926 in Waukegan, Illinois to Thomas John Anderson, Jr. and Virgie Vienna (Chilcote) Anderson.

He was a retired Public Accountant working primarily in the savings and loan industry. He was also a Veteran in the United States Army, serving in Europe from February 1945 to June 1945 and in the Philippines from September 1945 to May 1946.

Tom was a very active member of Gateway Presbyterian Church and was a former member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He loved playing cards on Sunday nights and going to Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club with his friends. He always made coffee on Sunday mornings at church. He also loved visiting with family as they were very important to him.

He is survived by two siblings, Richard Anderson and Florence Wolfgang; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Anderson, and a sister, Glenice Fablinger.

A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Gateway Presbyterian Church, 731 Castle Road. Burial will be held privately at Evergreen Cemetery.
