Thomas Paul Taubler, age 80, passed away on November 17, 2017 due to complications related to Alzheimer’s.
Tom was born in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Paul and Isabelle Taubler. He attended St. Joseph’s High School in Cleveland and went on to graduate from Case Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Tom had a distinguished career in the aerospace industry with Grumman, General Electric, and Lockheed Martin. Much of his career centered on missile defense technology that is still used today.
Tom met Patricia Copenhafer while both were working for GE. The two married in 1965. They raised their two children in King of Prussia, PA and San Jose, CA, later retiring to Scottsdale, Arizona. The two resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the time of Tom’s death.
Initially a dog person, Tom became a converted cat lover after rescuing a number of strays. His neighbors appreciated his gardening, especially his beautiful rose bushes. Tom was also an avid photographer, capturing Scottsdale landscapes on his many hikes with his wife. He will forever be remembered for his original, hand-crafted Caesar salad recipe.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Pat; his daughter, Lori; son, David; and four grandsons: Griffin, Gavin, Jackson, and Mason.
