Timothy John “Tim” Dannels passed away on May 29, 2024, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born Dec. 7, 1935, in Denver, CO, and was adopted by John Glenn and Sylvia Jane (Washburn) Dannels as their only child. He married the love of his life, Betty Louise Beery, on May 2, 1958, in Golden, CO.  She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2023. To this union were born two daughters, Karen Norris and Betty Jones, who both survive him.  Just before his 77th birthday, he found out his biological parents were Lyman Wilber Vick and Vera Mary Dudley and that he had close family and numerous cousins on both sides which thrilled him wonderfully.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Sheldon Jones; paternal brothers Herbert “H.C.” (Denise) Vick and Dave (Debra) Vick; paternal sister Karen Davis; grandchildren Rodney (Stephanie) Frese, Brandon Frese, Christopher (Amanda) Jones, Sarah Jones (Daniel MacDougall); great-grandchildren Alexis (Thomas) Warrick, Aliyah Frese, Darren Breci, Jason Hancock, Anastasia Frese, May Frese, Samuel Frese, Adria Jones, Lincoln Jones, and step-grandchildren of Karen raised as her own Sebastien (Julie) Norris, Skyler (Heather), and Scarlett Wolcott. There are also numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of his family.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his adopted and natural parents, his maternal sister JoAnn (née Hawks) and maternal brother-in-law O.B. Graves, and son-in-law John Norris.

Tim grew up in West Denver, became a Printer by trade, and was in the Navy Reserve for four years.

His life was spent with his family, and friends he’d made through his model airplane and railroad hobbies.  He enjoyed being outdoors and the family spent time hiking, snowmobiling, and Jeeping in the backcountry of Colorado.

Tim found his birth family in 2012 and enjoyed getting to know his new siblings.  His strongest bond was with his sister, JoAnn, and he was saddened by her passing in late 2021.  He spent his 77th birthday with her, meeting her for the first time.  His other siblings were dear to his heart, too.  He spent time with his brother HC, talking about hobbies and what they’d done in their lives.  Family was very important to him.
