Timothy D. Hassett, P.E.
Timothy D. Hassett, P.E., age 66, a resident of Calhan since 2003 and formerly of Colorado Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 1, 2012 on a ranch near Ellicott. He was a retired Engineer, cowboy, rancher, and horseman.
Timothy Donald Hassett, P.E., was born on December 7, 1945 in Rochester, New York to the late Donald J. and Marguerite (Drumm) Hassett. He was a 1963 graduate of East Ridge High School in Rochester and a 1967 graduate of the University of Buffalo. Tim did his post-graduate work at Georgia Tech University. He served his country in the United States Navy and worked for over 30 years with CH2M Hill as a Professional Engineer in the Water Engineering Design Group. He held Professional Engineer licenses in Florida, Texas, and Colorado. He was an active volunteer at the Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center and was a member of The American Painthorse Association, The Rocky Mountain Quarterhorse Association, The America Quarterhorse Association, and The Classic Thunderbird Club International.
He is survived by his brother: Alan M. Hassett, Sr., of Dover, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Marie; his brother, David; his sister-in-law: Janet; and two nephews.
Tim will be best remembered for his sense of humor and love of practical jokes played on others and himself. He was a loyal friend and a good neighbor to all he met. He was always available to help anyone who asked or was in need.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center, 13620 Hallelujah Trail, Elbert, Colorado 80106. Please check your maps and dress appropriately for a cowboy themed celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tim’s name may be made to the Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center.
