November 28, 1938 – November 22, 2024
Tino “Sauce” Randall, a devoted father and visionary in the field of national defense, passed away in Colorado Springs on November 22, 2024, at the age of 85. Tino was born as Valentino Redolf in Kressbronn, West Germany, on November 28, 1938, to Guido and Margrith Redolf. Tino’s life was marked by a profound commitment to both his family and his work in shaping some of the most pivotal defense and technology programs of the 20th century.
A man of quiet strength and intellect, Tino is survived by his daughters: Elsa Seal, Nova Randall, and Crystal Randall; his sister, Camilla Halbeisen; his nephews: Reinhard Halbeisen, Werner Halbeisen, and Valentino Halbeisen; and his grandchildren: Alex Randall, Lena Randall, Orion Seal, Sophia Salvador, and Nico Hill. He was preceded by his mother, Margrith (Gutzwiller) Redolf; his father, Guido Redolf; his step-mother, Toni Redolf; and his brother, Horst Redolf.
Tino received a BS in Industrial Engineering in Germany and credits in Computer Science at Phil-Tech, PA, and went on to manage and support the U.S. Defense industry (DOD) and related organizations for 20 years on a multitude of programs for Ford-Aerospace, Western Development Labs, Loral Command & Control Systems, and Lockheed/Martin.
Tino left an indelible mark on national security and technology. He played a key role in the Mercury and Gemini space programs, contributing to the fabrication of components that helped propel America’s space exploration efforts. His work continued with the Explorer satellites, as he was deeply involved in the production of military satellites for the early space race.
In addition to his contributions to aerospace, Tino was instrumental in the development of military-grade systems designed to protect critical national infrastructure. His work in these areas laid the groundwork for secure communications and helped shape the modern technologies that we rely on today.
Tino’s career also included pioneering contributions to the emerging tech industry. As part of a select engineering team, he helped roll out Microsoft’s first Windows 95 and NT4 business platforms, driving digital transformation for Fortune 500 companies from his base in San Francisco. His expertise in systems engineering and network security was integral to laying the foundation for the internet as we know it today.
In his later years, Tino embraced his passion for writing and became a published author, penning six books. His writing, like his life, reflected his inquisitive mind and his deep understanding of the world around him.
Tino was passionate about healthy living and staying youthful and remained active throughout his life. He was a collector and a man of many talents and interests, which included Shaolin Kung Fu, archery, skiing, windsurfing, swimming, hiking, rollerblading, country dancing, scrapbooking, and deep conversations.
Tino was known for his gentle voice, his thoughtful demeanor, and his unwavering dedication to the people and causes he cared about. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence, innovation, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

2 Dec 2024As a father to our beloved three children, Elsa, Nova, and Crystal, you hold a very special place in my heart. I will forever remember our journey in this earthly life together. You were instrumental in bringing me and the rest of my Filipino family into this country. My family considered you as one of us, and share many wonderful memories of you. You taught me so many things in life that I never dreamed I would ever do such as archery, skiing, and even cooking German dishes. Most of all you inspired me to reach for excellence as a goal in life. I will miss our almost endless conversations about everything such as our children, politics, world events, health issues, and spiritual matters on the phone.

2 Dec 2024Condolences to his family and friends, and I believe I was fortunate enough to be one of his friends as well as his neighbor. He would often join us on our front patio on a Friday or Saturday night and tell us fascinating stories and share moments of his work and writings. As a dedicated history buff myself, we had numerous conversations about the 60’s, his work and his pioneering work. He joined us
for dinner Christmas Day 2023 as well as a dinner party we had and we asked him to tell us about one of his books (12 people were there). He was a great neighbor, great sense of humor, and loved his history stories as I knew all he referenced!! He will be missed. Til we.meet again Tino! God Bless your family and Thank you for being our friend.
