Tom Kelley, a resident of Security for 24 years and formerly of Germany, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014. He was a member of the United States Army National Guard for six years and was also an automotive mechanic and instructor. He also worked for the Colorado Springs Fire Department in the L&T shop for 1 year.
Thomas Henry Kelley was born on August 27, 1958 to James and Martha (Rosenthal) Kelley in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He attended Kearns High School in Kearns, Utah and attended college at Central Texas College in Hanau, Germany. He married Eileen Celeste Brady on January 26, 1990 in El Paso, Texas.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, as well as motorcycle riding and fishing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was active in the prayer chain and many other ministries. He was a gentle spirit. He was patient, kind and had a great love of people. He endured his illness silently for 10 years, never complaining.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen of Security; his parents who live in Fountain; his brother: James (wife Maryke) Kelley of Loveland, Colorado; his sister, Lolita (husband Eric) Bast of Fountain; and seven nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 South Corona Avenue. A Rosary Service will be held at 10:00 am at the Church. Private interment will be held at a future date at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.
Memorials in Tom’s name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to St. Vincent de Paul Ministries.
