Velda Ruth (Boss) Baugh
Velda was born on March 11, 1925 in Bennington, Kansas. She went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2013, after a severe stroke.
Velda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved cooking meals for her family and celebrating every occasion that came up with a big delicious meal, homemade desserts and homemade ice cream with beautiful china, candles, and flowers that she would personally arrange.
Velda is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Wayne Baugh after 69 years of marriage; her four children: Gary (wife Jayne) Baugh of Johnstown, Colorado, Dean (wife Janie) Baugh of Fremont, Nebraska, Soni (husband Steve) Spencer of Palmer Lake, Colorado and Lesa (husband Thomas) Dill of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Velda has eight grandchildren: Mitchell Baugh, Myia Swoboda, Zachary Baugh, Chelsee Jensen, Justin Jones, Andrew Jones, Ryan Spencer and Tonya Rackers. She also has eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents: Glenn and Ruth Boss; and brothers: Harley Ray, Keith Boss, and Don Boss.
Velda loved the Lord and was a member of Rocky Mountain Calvary in Colorado Springs. Velda and Wayne were always in attendance on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings if their health allowed it.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We love you and look forward to seeing you in Heaven.
Velda’s memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Rocky Mountain Calvary, 4285 North Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs. A second memorial service will be held in Bennington, Kansas at Bennington Bible Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2013. Velda will be laid to rest privately in Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Kansas.
