Velma M. Rogacki, age 86, a long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at her home. She was a homemaker and for a time was a realtor.
Velma Marie Volle was born on January 11, 1925 in Axtell, Kansas to the late Arthur A. and Mabel S. (Browhard) Volle. She was a graduate of Beattie High School in Beattie, Kansas and married Stephen Peter Rogacki on November 14, 1942 in Leavenworth, Kansas. She was a member of the Pikes Peak Adventure League, Corpus Christi Catholic Church and its Rosary Makers, the Colorado Wood Carvers, and the Pikes Peak Whittlers Club. She worked for ERA Realty before retiring. Her greatest love was her husband, children and her beloved family.
She is survived by her ten children: Stephen of Liberal, Kansas; Gary Lynn of Boulder, Colorado; Paul (wife, Nichelle) of Irvine, California; Patrick of Colorado Springs; Philip of Maplewood, New Jersey; Joseph (fiancé, Leanne Boyd) of Colorado Springs; George (wife, Jackie) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Carol Harvey of Colorado Springs; Mary Rogacki of Morrison, Colorado; and Jean Rogacki of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and her sister, Ruby Roberts of Cottage Grove, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and six brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel. A rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 North Cascade Avenue. A reception will follow services at church. Cremation is planned and she will be inurned at the Fort Logan National Cemetery Columbarium.
