Velma Pearl Rice, age 95, passed away on November 29, 2021. Velma was born to Frank and Lola Mae Wederski in Kansas on May 30, 1926 and moved to Manitou Springs with her family as a child. She remained in Manitou Springs until her final day. Velma worked in various food service industries around Manitou Springs until retiring as the food services supervisor for school district #14.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rice, and daughter, Shirley Joyner. She is survived by her son, Larry Rice; grandchildren, Jessica Means, Jeanette Daniel, William Rice, Erik Kislesky, and Brian Kislesky; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss her greatly.
She will be privately entombed at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum Gate of Heaven Sanctuary.

3 Dec 2021I have so many good memories of Aunt Velma. We would go camping and arrowhead hunting. Spent time up at the ranch. We had many good times. Lots of laughs.
I will never forget the time we spent together. I will miss her very much.
