Viola S. Martinez, 77, of Colorado Springs, passed away on October 1, 2013. Viola was born on August 8, 1936 in Antonito, Colorado to the late Carlos and Eufemia (Garcia) Martinez. On November 3, 1956 she married Ruben Martinez and together had three children.
Viola was a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
Viola is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Eloy) Navarro; son, Ricky (Brian) Martinez and two brothers, Herman and Carlos Martinez. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Dominic, Lorraine, Jimmy and Omar as well as ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ruben; son, Steve Martinez; brother, Willie and two sisters, Della and Ruth.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A Rosary will follow at 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
