Virgil G. McCormack, a resident of Colorado Springs for 64 years, passed away on August 5, 2014. He was the co-owner of M & D Concrete and a United States Navy veteran.
Virgil was born on November 2, 1924 to George S. and Louisa (Geer) McCormack in Clemons, Iowa. He married Gwendolyn Doris Brown on August 17, 1947 in Marshalltown, Iowa.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and in his younger years he loved motorcycle riding. He was humorous and strong willed, and it was either his way or the highway.
He is survived by his children: Diane (Kent) Sutherland, Steven (Liz) McCormack, and LouAnne McCormack; his companion, Jeanne Downing, and her children: Karon, Karol, Kathy, and Jim; three grandchildren: Craig and Erin McCormack, and Ashley (Zach) Cohn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris; his son, Michael McCormack; his parents; his brother, John McCormack; and his sister, Eva Park.
