Virginia Pfander went to be with her savior on December 22, 2017. Virginia was born February 23, 1920 to Milo and Ida Smith (Driver) in Clark County, Iowa. She would later graduate from Osceola High School in 1938. She married Lyle Pfander on February 23, 1939. Together they had four children: Richard (deceased), Audrey, Milo, and Rosemary. Together they built their lives and Virginia was a devout Christian and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, preparing home-cooked meals, and sewing.

Virginia and her family moved to Colorado Springs in 1962. Virginia loved taking drives through the mountains, especially in the fall to see the changing colors. In her later years she traveled to many places, including Germany, Canada, and numerous different states to visit relatives and friends.

Virginia leaves behind many relatives who will love and miss her dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren: Roy Pfander, Shawn Unger (Riggen), Kimberley Baltadonis, and Mike Pfander. As the oldest of 15 children, Virginia leaves behind 7 living siblings, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She had a special bond with her niece Sharon Mattson, whom Virginia loved as a daughter.

In later years, Virginia and her husband became snowbirds and would spend their winters in Arizona. They made many friends in the area, and enjoyed their time away from the Colorado snow. Virginia was a devout member of Faith Bible Church for over 50 years, and loved her church families both in Colorado Springs as well as Arizona. As a loving Christian mother, Virginia taught her children and grandchildren alike to love and worship the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, and her eldest son, Richard.

Memorials in Virginia’s name may be made to the Faith Bible Church, 6862 Galley Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80915.

Visitation will take place 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017, followed by the funeral service, both at Faith Bible Church, 6862 Galley Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915. Entombment at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.
