Walter L. Sally

Walter L. Sally, age 94, died on June 20th in Clearlake, California. He resided in Colorado Springs for 62 years before moving to Clearlake in November of 2010 to be with his daughter. He moved from his home-town of Rockford, Illinois in 1948.
Walt was born, in Rockford, to Fred and Agnes (Hacker) Sally. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years during WWII and was a member of American Legion, Post 5. He was a sales representative for the American Electric Co. of Pueblo, Colorado for 31 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Colorado Springs BPO of Elks for 51 years. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He served as a volunteer for Ecumenical Social Ministries and Interfaith Hospitality Network who awarded him the Lane Lavellet Memorial Award for Volunteer of the Year in 2003. He was married to Alta Maxine Evans in 1953.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Sally-Avila of Rockford, Ilinois and Debra Sally of Clearlake, California, two grand-daughters, four great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and four step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife and two daughters, Barbara Vance and Sandra Singmaster.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. A celebration of his life will be held in Colorado Springs on July 7th. He is to be entombed at the Shrine of Remembrance, Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
