Wayne “Jake” Anderson passed away Jan. 8th, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jake was born Aug. 27th, 1945, at Tom Coopers Dairy Farm in Ardmore, OK., to Virgil and Faye Anderson. He grew up in Oklahoma with his sister Olivia and brother Claude and had a close relationship with his cousin Lavada. Jake enlisted into the Army in 1962-1966, having been primarily stationed in Berlin. While there, one of his duties was assistant cook and was very proud of the fact that he was charged with making chocolate chip cookies for President Kennedy during one of his visits!
Jake was also an exceptional potter, mastering the art enough to open his own businesses and extend his knowledge of the craft to others. Jake’s biggest joy each day was meeting up with friends to have coffee.
He is survived by his wife Deby Anderson, his children and their spouses, Gina and Kelly, Les and Kim, Travis and Jenny, and Mike and Lacey and his Grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Faith, Lauren, Jacob, Jarryn, Livia and Colton, all of whom have precious memories of their Papa!
Jake’s cremated ashes will be returned to the Oklahoma Hills that he dearly loved.
