Wilbert Colin Wahl, age 90, passed away on March 1, 2018. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for 30 years and was formerly a resident of Ashley, North Dakota and San Jose, California. Wilbert was a farmer and a service station manager.
Wilbert was born on March 30, 1927 to Frederick and Emma (Nill) Wahl in Ashley, North Dakota. He was never married.
Willy was an avid hiker. He hiked all over Colorado Springs, Colorado and hiked Pikes Peak (el. 14,000 ft) about once a month in the summer until he was 80+ years old. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended grade school at Myrtle District #8, School #4 in McIntosh County, North Dakota and graduated in 1942.
Wilbert is survived by his siblings: Elmer (Ione) Wahl, and Eugene (Vivian) Wahl. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Ivan Wahl, Walter (Lois) Wahl, Allen Wahl, Irma Wahl, Enoch Wahl, Leroy (Delores) Wahl, Lorraine (Harold) Moos, and Eunice (Martin) Grozshans. He had fourteen nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 Farmingdale Drive, Colorado Springs Colorado 80917, (719) 570-9800.
