Wilford “Wil” Biggs passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a resident of Colorado Springs from 1969 to 2012, he moved to Arizona, and later, Nevada. He was a U.S. Naval Veteran of WWII. For 25 years he worked as a hatcheryman in Marceline, Missouri. In Colorado he sold real estate and managed rental properties.
Wil was born on October 14, 1921 in Kirksville, Missouri to Marion Monroe Biggs and Sarah Melissia (Darnel) Biggs. He married Margaret Catherine Ohm on April 15, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois.
He loved to travel and enjoyed nature, particularly watching birds.
He is survived by six sons: Pete (Janice), John (Marlene), Jim, Paul (Debbie), Henry, and Ken (Liza); three daughters: Mary (Ron) Bush, Peg (Daniel) Mahoney, and Ginny (Dan) Snell; thirty-eight grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Doris Gilbo; and two sisters-in-law: Virginia Biggs and Betty Ohm. Wil is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Nora Ealey; three brothers; and a sister.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
