Willi Raumer, age 79, passed away suddenly on February 8, 2014. He was born in Germany in 1934. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1958 where he met the love of his life, Dorothea Helga. In 1960 they immigrated to California where they lived until their retirement in 1990.

While traveling through the state of Colorado, Willi fell in love with the Garden of the Gods, and said, “This is the place where we will retire.”

He was known to all of his friends as the German cowboy, with his Stetson hat and cowboy boots.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothea Helga; a daughter, Petra Purvin (Rainer) of Germany; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. A Celebration of Willi’s life will be held at a later date.
