William “Lefty” Alvie Jones, 68, of Colorado Springs, passed away on April 14, 2016. William was born on March 24, 1948 to the late Robert E. and Mary S. (Roach) Jones in Seaford, Delaware where he resided for eighteen years. After graduating William C. Jason High School, Lefty joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country for several years. Later in life, he became a fine chef.

Lefty was fond of working on cars, drinking his 211 beer and had an appreciation for reading and watching sports. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Lefty is survived by his loving wife, Ruby; children: William Jr., Lisa Jones, Denise Jones, Venita Fresquez, Randy Seamon, Andre Fresquez, Jaimeson Jones, Kerry Vassell, Kevfoy Vassell, Kerryann Vassell and Shaera Vassell as well as his grandchildren: Tabrina Jones, Arthur Garcia, Jaylene Jones, Deangelo Seamon, Dominique Fresquez, Thomas Fresquez, Monique Valdez, Devon Fresquez, Andricia Fresquez, Victoria Jones, Keira Jones, Ariana Vassell, Kerry Vassell, Jr., Sion Vassell, Cameron Vassell, Tyrell Peart, Dayna Peart, Isaiah Peart, Anias Williams, Natalia Williams and Ayana Hankle.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Funeral services and military honors will follow at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon reception will follow services at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard. Private interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
