William “Bill” Perkins, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2024, after a brave five-year battle with cancer. A devoted brother, proud veteran, and a man of quiet strength, Bill’s life was marked by resilience, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures.

Born on August 4, 1951, in Wels, Austria, to John and Ilse (Mattick) Perkins, Bill graduated from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs in 1969 before embarking on a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Navy as a Radioman First Class. He served with honor and dedication, traveling the world and contributing greatly during his years of service.

Bill was a man who found joy in solitude, often immersing himself in books, music, and technology. He enjoyed long walks and quiet reflection, embracing life with a thoughtful and introspective nature. As a resident of Colorado Springs for over three decades, Bill lived a life of quiet fulfillment, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his loving siblings, Kenneth Perkins of Jacksonville, Florida, and Catherine Perkins of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ilse Perkins; and his brother, John Perkins.

Bill’s memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved him. His family takes comfort in knowing he has found peace, reunited with those who went before him.
