Bill died very peacefully in the afternoon on September 18, 2016. He had been under hospice care.
A passionate caring friend to all who knew him. A handyman to neighbors and friends in need, he was always willing to assist others.
Bill served twenty-seven years in the Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant (NCO) in August of 1981. He worked as a sales representative for Buck Stoves for a short time, then he and his wife, Tena opened their own wood stove business which operated for 20 years. After finally retiring from retail, he and his wife traveled visiting family and friends until Tena became ill and died of cancer. Bill continued to help others and received support and encouragement from family and friends. His friendship with Charlotte Cooley (whose husband died of cancer) prospered and grew until their marriage December 2000.
Bill is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his sister, Bernice Crowder of Boulder, Colorado, two daughters, Diane Thomas of El Paso, Texas, and Denise Mohn of Las Vegas, Nevada. Three grandchildren, Kayla, Kristi, and Katie; and a great granddaughter, Violet. His extended family in Annandale, Minnesota.
