Zdzislaw “Ziggy” Wdowiarz, age 85, passed away December 18, 2015. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 1 ½ years and was formerly a resident of Meriden, Connecticut. He retired in 1996 from Ulbrich Stainless Steel after working there for 30 years. He also served in the Polish army.
He was born on August 20, 1930 in Poland to Jan Wdowiarz and Jozefa (Drozd) Wdowiarz. He married Aleksandra Uliasz on April 24, 1954 in Poland.
He was a huge family man who always had a camera in his hand, “To take candid photos.” He took pride in his appearance and was always detailing his car. He loved electronics, dancing, soccer, chocolate, and listening to Polkas. He also enjoyed WWII movies and westerns, and watching classic comedy shows and movies.
He is survived by his wife; his daughters: Bernadette Brix, and Theresa (husband James) Palaia; his son, Stanley (wife Iwona) Wdowiarz; his brothers: Stanislaw and Jozef Wdowiarz; 12 grandchildren: Christopher, Jennifer, Stephanie, Samantha, Christine, Elizabeth, Ashley, Nicholas, Corey, Olivia, Riley, Tyler; 2 great-grandchildren: Monica and Briella; a son-in-law, Charlie; and a daughter-in-law, Silvia. He now joins in heaven his loving parents; son, Jan; and brother, Roman.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard.
